BEGIN THE
JOURNEY
God sent His son Jesus to rescue us and show us how to live. He is the only way to get to heaven, and the only way to find out who God made you to be.
You're going to want to follow this guy.
So what does this look like?
If we’re ready to open the door to Jesus, we have to be done running our life the way we think is best. In Proverbs 14:12 the wisest man who ever lived said, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.” We think we know what would make us happy. What life we should have. That thinking is dead wrong.
If we are truly asking God to forgive our sins, to accept His Son’s death as payment for those sins, then we have to be done with them. Luke 13:3 says, "But unless you repent, you too will all perish.” The word repent means to change directions, primarily a change of mind. God is in the opposite direction of sin. You must be ready to leave your sins behind. Repenting is going toward God and away from sin.
If that sounds impossible, you just haven’t hung out with Jesus yet. In the Bible Paul went through so much crazy stuff yet he said, “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me” -Philippians 4:13 NASB. Jesus himself said, "With people it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God” -Mark 10:27 NASB.
Accepting Salvation is trusting that God has a better plan than us. It is to set out on a journey to follow Jesus, letting Him take us to God. It’s allowing Him to show us how to live, how we need to change to be our true selves that God planned for us to be, and how we live as His children to impact the world for His glory. It is embarking on a journey that will be hard at times, filled with wonders, and something you will never regret. An adventure that will last for all eternity.
